Beecher Hill Brook Floodplain Restoration Update

Work on the Beecher Hill Brook (Hinesburg Town Garage) floodplain restoration is progressing rapidly. Contractors have completed the in-stream work to build rock and log weirs that will raise the level of the streambed, and are now working to remove the berms and extra sediment along the stream edges. They will soon plant and stabilize the site for the winter, and will continue with final plantings in the spring. We are excited to see this project moving towards completion! See our previous press release on the project for more background information on this project. This project has been funded by the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation through the state’s Clean Water Initiative Program, with matching funds provided by the Town of Hinesburg and Lewis Creek Association.
