New Water Quality and Aquatic Invasive Species Presentations

We are excited to announce that we have some new water quality videos and PowerPoints available! We will be presenting these new presentations via Zoom on Aug. 17, Aug. 19, and Aug. 24 at 7 PM (see details below). If you prefer to view the presentations in your own time, the direct link to the five water quality videos is https://www.lewiscreek.org/water-quality-videos, or they can also be viewed on YouTube here. (Note this is a new YouTube channel for us, and has some other miscellaneous videos on it as well! Check it out and subscribe if you’d like to!) There are two brief ~17 minute presentations (one each for town boards and landowners), and three longer (approximately 45 minute) presentations (one for each town Shelburne, Charlotte, and Hinesburg).

The new video on aquatic invasive species is available at https://www.lewiscreek.org/invasive-species-control or on our YouTube channel.

Please reach out to Kate Kelly, lewiscreekorg@gmail.com, 488-5203 with any questions!

Subject: Water Quality in the LaPlatte River Watershed for Landowners

Monday, August 17, 7-7:30 PM

Join Lewis Creek Association’s Kate Kelly for a brief 15 minute Zoom presentation to learn about water quality in your town (Hinesburg, Shelburne, and Charlotte, but good for those throughout the Champlain basin) and how it affects Lake Champlain’s health.  What causes our streams and lake’s poor water quality?  What can you do as a landowner to help improve water quality?  How can we collaborate as landowners in the LaPlatte River watershed to take better charge of our lake’s future?  Brought to you by Lewis Creek Association, and partially supported by funding from Lake Champlain Basin Program and NEIWPCC.  This presentation is geared towards what landowners can do to help improve water quality; a later presentation (August 24, 7 PM) will be geared towards what town boards and commissions can do toward this end.
